Transform learning and belonging in every classroom.
Our school improvement model is designed to achieve real impact by supporting and scaffolding schools and systems to implement effective, evidenced-based whole school improvement.
We developed this program based on our experience with school leadership teams who face so many competing demands every day that it’s hard to find the time to curate, design and deliver a whole new approach to teaching and learning while they are running their busy school.
Our Guided Implementation Model has three key features
Effective school improvement requires improvements to be undertaken in a theory-aligned and evidence-informed sequence*. We have researched and developed a series of carefully planned improvement cycles which are sequenced to deliver maximum efficiency and impact for the effort.
Systematic and sequential
Based on evidence-based diagnostics, we adapt the journey for each school so they take the right next step. Where a school starts depends on the improvement they have already completed and the fidelity of their current practice, based on the results they are achieving for students.
Diagnostic and adaptive
Improving student learning outcomes means a fidelity of practice in every classroom. Achieving this requires a focus on implementation. We have developed a whole-school model for improvement in agreed cycles with clear, whole-school implementation dates.
Every classroom, whole-school
We guide schools, step by step and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the school leadership and regional office teams to simplify each step in the school improvement journey. We provide change management templates, pre-prepared communications, templates and scaffolds to make the job of implementation as easy as possible.
Guided and supported
Integrated world-class professional learning and expert coaching is provided in your school to support high fidelity teacher practice in every classroom incorporating the essential elements of high impact learning programs: theory, demonstration, practice and coaching.
Integrated PL and coaching
Supporting your teachers to implement evidence-based practice in every classroom.
Guided Implementation for school improvement is for education systems, schools, networks and clusters who seek a holistic evidence-based approach to professional learning and school improvement.
Guided Implementation includes professional learning designed for the different audiences, including executives, leaders and teachers. It is highly practical and integrated with teaching and learning, with a focus on what teachers do in the classroom. We incorporate learning in change management and provide the tools and strategies to support your school improvement. It includes theory and knowledge from expert presenters, opportunities to practise back in the classroom and instructional coaching to ensure quality and consistency in implementation at the system and whole-school level.
Guided Implementation involves a system-wide or whole-school approach to school improvement. We work with staff across all levels of the system or school, including executives, leaders and teachers. We also work alongside your teaching and learning team to further build the capacity of internal staff to scale-up and repeat the program and work with additional schools in subsequent years. The result will be a replicable, cost-effective guided implementation model that you can roll out and sustain once the Knowledge Society team’s support and scaffolding has been completed.
Guided Implementation for school improvement was developed to provide a solution for school leadership teams who face so many competing demands every day that they struggle to find the time to curate, design and deliver a whole new approach to teaching and learning while they are running their busy school. We bring a robust evidence base, compiled using Knowledge Society’s network of researchers, practitioners and accomplished teachers. Our model is aligned to the science of learning, the science of reading and other evidence about how students best learn.
